Great article as always! One thing I've noticed about many non-tech folks is that you don't realize that "AI" has been around for decades. I'd recommend finding the AI features that you likely use on a frequent basis. For example, your smart phone likely uses AI for many features.
Thank you for the post - I find the relatively conservative stance persuasive. One thing that strikes me is how we might just transition to new tasks in our workplace. I also now wonder what unintended side-effects we might face.
In trying to differentiate between AI, I wonder if understanding reasoning and the role of research in workflows might be helpful (especially as a philosophy graduate student, I find many people talking about AI and consciousness in imprecise terms).
